Police: RVer Set Fire to Her Own RV in Park
A woman who is said to have intentionally set her RV on fire is facing arson charges.
Lana Renee Meadville, 45, of Kingman, Ariz., was arrested April 6, a day after she reportedly set her RV on fire as it was parked at the Coyote Canyon RV Park in the 100 block of Route 66 the previous day, the Kingman Daily Miner reported.
Neighbors told authorities who responded to the fire that they watched as Meadville set her RV on fire and then sat next to it as it burned. She reportedly had to be pulled away from the flames by the neighbors.
Meadville left before deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office arrived. She was arrested after deputies returned to the RV park and found her sleeping in her vehicle.
Trish Carter, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said Meadville confessed to deputies as she was being taken into custody, although it's not clear how or why she started the fire.
Carter added that Meadville could possibly face additional charges as the investigation continues.
