A flood warning continues until further notice in La Crosse, Wis., the La Crosse Tribune reported.

According to the National Weather Service website, the Mississippi River at La Crosse was at 11.9 feet at 5 a.m. Sunday (April 3); flood stage is 12 feet.

The forecast is for the river to rise above flood stage this morning and continue to rise to near 12.8 feet by Saturday, with additional rises possible after that.

Minor flooding is forecast.

At 12 feet, Pettibone Campground and RV Park is flooded, and there is some lowland flooding in areas near the river, according to the website.

A storm system is expected to bring light precipitation to the area today, according to the weather service, with the bulk of the precipitation falling across northern Wisconsin and central Minnesota. It is likely any precipitation that falls will cause water levels to rise again, according to the weather service.
