City and county officials in southern Missouri’s Taney County received word Monday evening (May 23) the release of water from Table Rock Dam will increase from 26,000 cubic feet per second to 40,000 cubic feet per second by early today. Jim Sandberg with the Table Rock Corps said this could raise Lake Taneycomo 2 to 3 feet, KSPR-TV, Springfield, reported.
Sandberg said Table Rock is now expected to crest at 933.5 in mid-week, which is higher than the 2008 flood level, but lower than earlier this spring.
In Branson, the city has now evacuated the city-owned Lakeside RV Park south of Branson Landing, according to city spokesman Jerry Adams.
Residents and businesses still along the lakefront have been notified by city employees of the increase in lake levels. They were told to be vigilant and monitor weather forecasts and media reports.
