Nashville Shores' first campers

After major renovations and significant upgrades, Nashville Shores near Nashville, Tenn., reopened its RV campground and welcomed its first campers in late April. At check-in, the Weaver and the Zavoral families of Michigan were surprised with a welcome basket full of original Tennessee products.

The complete renovation of the campground includes full hookups including sewer and electric, new cable and Wi-Fi, a playground, a recreation hall, an arcade, new RV sites, a totally refurbished bathhouse and other significant changes, according to a news release.

Nashville Shores is now also offering primitive tent camping. Camping rates range from $25 to $50 a day. For reservations, contact (615) 889-7050 x217.

About Nashville Shores

Nashville Shores is a 385-acre family recreation destination located on J. Percy Priest Lake just past the airport off I-40 (Exit 221B). It is comprised of a water park, RV campground, 20 group event sites and event management team, a 310-slip marina, boat rental business and other attractions.

Just one year after the largest expansion in park history, including a new wave pool and lazy river, Nashville Shores is adding another major attraction for the 2011 season. Kowabunga Beach, which is scheduled for completion by opening day 2011, will be a massive water treehouse and sprayground.

In addition to the exciting new attractions, the water park currently includes multiple waterslides, three pools, Kayak Cove, thousands of feet of beach, and a “Giant Bucket of Fun” that pours hundreds of gallons of water on kids of all ages. For those who prefer staying dry, Nashville Shores offers free lake cruises onboard the Nashville Shoreliner, volleyball, horseshoes and much more.
