The Jackson Cos. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., parent company of Ocean Lakes Family Campground, has announced that Target will anchor the 40-acre SayeBrook Town Center, located at the corner of Hwy. 544 and U.S. 17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach, reported.

SayeBrook Town Center is a mixed-use area that includes retail, restaurant, office and civic uses. It is located within the master-planned development SayeBrook, a 700-acre traditional neighborhood development incorporating residential housing and office, medical, recreation, and civic uses. Construction of the SayeBrook Town Center is underway and the Target store is scheduled to open in July 2012.

The new general merchandise Target store will include an expanded fresh food assortment, providing greater convenience and value to guests. At about 135,000 square feet, the store will employ approximately 200 team members. It will offer basic fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and baked goods. In addition, the store will include a pharmacy, Starbucks and Pizza Hut. The architectural character of the new Target store will incorporate pergolas, window shutters, pedestrian seating areas and sidewalks, and special landscaping reminiscent of the rich low-country architectural design of the Town Center.

“The Jackson Family is very pleased to partner with Target in bringing a new level of quality retail to the south Myrtle Beach area,” explains Dennis Wade, CEO of The Jackson Cos. “We see Target as the best possible anchor retailer to kick-off the next phase of the SayeBrook Town Center.”

The Jackson Cos., located in Myrtle Beach,  was founded by Mary Emily and Nelson Jackson and their five daughters. It is a family-owned enterprise that includes Prestwick Golf & Country Club, Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Ocean Lakes Properties, Crystal Lake Mobile Home Village, Ocean Lakes RV Center, and SayeBrook.
