Western New York Yogi Park Honored by Chamber
The Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Wyoming County, N.Y., will be honored as one of the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce business award winners, The Daily News reported.
“The Chamber is excited to have such a diverse group of award winners this year,” said Laura Lane, president and CEO.
“That being said, as diverse as they are from an industry standpoint, the pride and sense of family connection in evident in all them.”
The five businesses represent every aspect of the county’s business environment. They include a dairy farm, an ice cream shop, a manufacturer, a campsite and a trucking company.
Each will be recognized Wednesday (May 11) during the chamber’s annual awards gala at the Glen Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park.
Scott and Sue Crompton have transformed Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Western New York since they first purchased the campground in 2004.
The old 100-acre campground is now one of the county’s premier tourist destinations. Its offerings range from fully-furnished and equipped cabins to the more traditional RV and tent sites.
Amenities and services also including a swimming pool, pond, mini-golf, store, arcade, snack bar, bathhouses and the most-recent addition of Wyoming County’s only water park.
“Careful, well thought-out planning has led to the growth of Jellystone Park and to the county’s tourism industry,” chamber officials said.
