NCA Joins MACO’s Effort to Aid Ravaged Campground
The Northeast Campground Association (NCA) is joining the effort to help rebuild the Village Green Family Campground in Brimfield, Mass. The campground was decimated by a tornado on June 1.
As reported last week by WOODALLSCM.com, the Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners (MACO) is mounting several fundraisers to help the owners rebuild.
MACO’s Marcia Galvin stated in a recent e-mail to members:
Rebuild – Reunite
The Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners is banding together to support Village Green Family Campground in Brimfield, Massachusetts in the wake of a devastating tornado. “Devastating!” remarks Marcia Galvin after a visit by the MACO Board and several MACO park owners to the Brimfield campground. “That’s the most appropriate word I can use for Village Green Campground. Just about everything is gone but the strength and determination for Les and Meg Twarowski to rebuild…It is amazing with the damage and the unfortunate death of one of their campers, that they can smile.”
MACO has designated July 4th weekend as “Support Village Green Family Campground Weekend!” Participating campgrounds are pledging $1.00 per site to be donated to the relief fund to help rebuild Village Green. Owners, Meg and Les Twarowski are setting up an account at Country Bank and will allocate the funds through a committee. Les would really like to bring his campers “home” and MACO is there to help!
In an e-mail sent out today to NCA members, NCA’s executive director, David Tetrault, urged members to notify MACO’s Marcia Galvin at email@example.com and forward a check made out to “Village Green Family Campground” with Relief Fund in the memo, c/o MACO, P.O. Box 47, Foxboro, MA 02035.
Galvin will be gathering the checks and delivering them directly to Village Green after the July 4th weekend.
