Tents for Troops (T4T), the nationwide network of RV parks and campgrounds, received a great boost this week when country artist Brantley Gilbert asked his Facebook fans to take a look and help spread the word.

“Judging from the comments which followed Gilbert’s posting, it’s apparent that a lot of his fans are in the military; his help will go a long ways in getting the word out to those who can benefit from T4T,” according to a news release.  “He even has fans that will be camping in Tents for Troops parks this weekend.”

New parks this week include:

  • One owned by an active reservist, Casey Hemken. The park, Whispering Pines Campground and Trailride, located in Jadwin, Mo., is about an hour from Ft. Leonard Wood. The park has a camp store, picnic area, fishing and no less than 25,000 acres of the Ozark National Scenic River area to explore. With over 100 miles of trails, you could find yourself walking or riding on the same path that Jesse James may have traveled nearly 150 years ago. For more on Whispering Pines visit
  • For those traveling a bit farther south, we add our fifth park in Texas, Sunset Point RV Resort. The resort has nearly a mile of private shoreline on Lake LBJ. Here you will find yourself surrounded by recreational opportunities including the Canyon of the Eagles State Park, Enchanted Rock State Park and about a dozen more state parks in nearly every direction. After a day at the lake, great music of Austin or fine restaurants and river walk of San Antonio are waiting for you. Check Sunset Point out at
  • Salmon Falls Camping Resort in Lebabon, Maine, becomes the second T4T Park in Maine. In southern Maine this resort has a great deal to offer, starting with the indoor Olympic-sized pool, two dog parks, a camp store and an ice cream stand. Nearby attractions include Water Country Water Park and you can even go sky diving just a short distance from the park. As for that mouth-watering Maine Lobster it’s only a short 35-mile drive to the coast. Visit their website at http://salmonfallsriverrvresort.
