A man was injured when a tree toppled onto his camper during a storm Tuesday night (June 21) near Simpsonville, S.C..
It happened around 8 p.m. at the Scuffletown USA RV Park in Simpsonville. According to an official with Clear Springs Fire Department, crews responded to the park and found a large tree on top of the camper and a man trapped inside.
Emergency crews took about 30 minutes to safely extricate the man from inside the camper. The man, who was alive and alert, was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital with injuries to his legs.
The winds that caused the tree to topple were likely caused by a storm that was in the area at the time of the incident.
