A new campground opens this weekend in one of South Dakota's oldest state parks, Associated Press reported.

It offers 57 camping spots at Hartford Beach State Park on Big Stone Lake in northeast South Dakota.

The new East Campground is about a half-mile east of the original West Campground.

The state Parks Division said it includes two paved handicap accessible sites, family showers, and electrical hookups at each site.

Hartford Beach State Park was established in 1945.
