Woman Arrested in Washington Campground Shooting
A 22-year-old Anacortes, Wash., woman was arrested Thursday (June 2) in connection with a shooting Monday at a campground near Darrington in which a man suffered a wound to the head, according to the Skagit County Sheriff's Office.
The victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot early Monday at the Dearinger Campground. The man was then driven to a Darrington hospital for treatment and Skagit County sheriff's deputies were were called around 1 a.m., the Seattle Times reported
The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is expected to be released in the next few days.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect, the victim and three associates went to the campground and fired gunshots from their vehicle near the campsite of another group they had a dispute with. At least one individual from the other group returned fire, striking the victim in the head.
The suspect was booked for investigation of drive-by shooting
