In the town of Thayne, Wyo., the food bank has a high turnover rate of both those utilizing donations and those making them, the Star Valley Independent reported.

Pastor Steve Crittenden of Star Valley United Church helps administer the food bank for Thayne, located south of Yellowstone National Park.

“We’re blessed to be able to provide this service,” he said. We’ve enlarged the space that we have had dedicated to this purpose and we have a great group of places that work together that accept food and see that it is turned in here.”

Crittenden said that the RV park in the Town of Star Valley Ranch is a integral hub in the Thayne food bank in terms of donations.

“This is wonderful because many of these people are not full-time residents but they still want to participate,” he added. “We have accounts at all the grocery stores and (cash) donations are used in this way where we can take a family in and get those things like milk and bread; those perishable things.”
