3 Oregon Parks Promote Region at Weekend Rally
The Oregon RV Alliance (ORVA) held its “Rally Around the Oregon Covered Bridges Festival Rally” Oct. 6-9 in Cottage Grove.
Celebrating Oregon’s historic covered bridges, three local RV parks and numerous ORVA business members teamed up to present this “all-new rally concept.”
ORVA is a non-profit corporation formed for the sole purpose of promoting Oregon and supporting the motorcoaching experiences of visitors to the state, according to a news release.
Attendees could park at one of three RV resorts offering full amenities to enjoy the festivities. Among the weekend’s events was a Thursday evening football party to kick off the rally at Premier RV Resort in Coburg followed by three days of activities, including a breakfast at the Centennial Covered Bridge, Friday night hoe down, pitchfork dinner, pioneer games and guided tours of the bridges. Rally buses were on hand to transport attendees to the Covered Bridges Festival.
Other parks taking part in the tour were Deerwood RV Park and River Bend Resort.
A “rally passport” also was available, offering access to all activities along with a self-guided tour to the South Willamette wineries or open house events at ORVA member businesses.
The ORVA is planning more “Rally Around…rallies” centered around events and festivals unique to the state of Oregon. For more information on the Oregon Covered Bridges Festival visit http://www.come2oregon.com or call (541) 521-4277.
