Cast Sought for 'Trailer Park Housewives'
Move over real housewives. "The Trailer Park Housewives of Las Vegas" are moving in. "Trailer Park Housewives of Las Vegas" is a new reality television series being filmed in Las Vegas.
Some of the residents of the Desert Sands RV Park are considering trying out for the show, which will feature six housewives. Among them is Serena Burritt, who lives in and manages Desert Sands, KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, reported.
"I've thought about it. I haven't actually sent one in yet," she said. "As long as it doesn't paint anybody in a bad light, I think it's a good thing. Because, everybody has the stigma that, you know, a trailer park is a bad place. It's like "The Jerry Springer Show," but it isn't. It really isn't."
Her boss, Shannon McMackin, supports the trailer park twist to reality television, as long as it kills stereotypes.
"The issue to me really becomes about affordable housing. It's an opportunity for affordable housing, and I don't know how anybody could discredit that," McMackin said.
Casting calls for the show wrap in October. It should start airing on cable next year.
