The largest urban park system in the U.S.A. is operated by Jacksonville, Fla.

The area also offers a host of natural beauty, making it one of the most popular destinations for RV camping. Jacksonville offers several RV campgrounds. In this article we will discuss a few of these RV camping sites that offer a great deal of facilities for campers. Both of the Florida campgrounds are rated as “The Best of the Best” RV campgrounds by Woodall’s and are close to the Jacksonville International Airport. However, these two parks have their own character and have something unique to offer to their guests.

Pecan Park RV Resort is one of the newest Florida campgrounds of Florida-Georgia border area. It offers a beautiful pine wooded backdrop and water views. This RV campground is known to provide modern-day luxuries and a down-home hospitality for their guests. Pecan Park RV Resort is close to Exit 366 off Interstate 95 and Jacksonville International Airport and River City Marketplace are just two blocks away. This Florida campground also offers easy access to numerous tourist attractions of the area including Yellow Bluff Fort Historic Park, Talbot Islands State Park, Jacksonville Zoo, Ghost Town in St. Augustine, and Jacksonville Beaches.

There are around 183 RV camping sites in this park. And all these sites come with full hookups, which include 20/30/50-amp electric services, sewer, city water, cable TV and Wi-Fi. The spaces are concrete and oversized to accommodate the largest recreational vehicles that drive into the city. The staff of this Florida campground can also help guests to wash their recreational vehicles. In addition, this RV campground offers picnic areas, swimming pool, fishing lakes, clubhouse, patio and barbeque grills. There is an on-site dump station and RV storage. Propane is also available. Flamingo Lake RV Resort

Another Florida campground that deserves a mention is Flamingo Lake RV Resort, located in North Jacksonville. This RV campground too is a few block away from Jacksonville International Airport and is 10 minutes drive away the Alltel Stadium. It is an easy access from Interstate 295 at Exit 32. In spite of being close to many dining and shopping destinations, this RV campground offers a great escape for campers who want leave behind the city chaos. Flamingo Lake RV Resort is surrounded by a spring-fed lake and covers around 50 acres. This RV camping ground is often referred as to one of the finest campgrounds in South.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort features 288 sites, which can accommodate both 45-foot recreational vehicles and small pop-ups. There are lake view sites, paved luxury lakefront lots, lakefront lots and luxury lakefront lots. In addition, this RV campground has cabins and a condoport. All the RV camping sites are come with full hookup including 30-and 50-amp services, water, sewer, Wi-Fi and cable TV. Some of the sites also have phone hookups.
