ARVC’s DIRECTV Deal Already Paying Dividends
Campground members of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) are quickly jumping onboard to collect the dividends available through its landmark cable TV agreement.
Late in 2011, ARVC CEO Paul Bambei announced that ARVC had signed an agreement with Just In Time Communications Inc., a national DIRECTV dealer, to “bring premier satellite service” from DIRECTV, the nation’s pre-eminent satellite television provider with over 50 million customers.
Just In Time Communications, DIRECTV’s certified service/installation subsidiary, has been with DIRECTV for 14 years serving all 50 states with service and support.
“So far, we have 110 parks that have taken advantage of this new benefit, which collectively creates over $2.2 million in annualized savings from what they were paying before,” Bambei told Woodall’s Campground Management (WCM). “This number will only get bigger as more and more park owners begin to pay attention to the deal, which I suspect will happen as weather turns warmer this spring. I know of two parks that will save $30,000 per month each … not bad.”
Bambei stressed that while DIRECTV is the programming provider, “our deal is with Just In Time Communications, a commercial distributor for DIRECTV. We purposely negotiated through JIT to obtain the free satellite equipment that is a major component of the deal.”
Bambei reviewed highlights of the arrangement at the ARVC conference held in Savannah, Ga., late last year.
