Florida ARVC Lobbies State Legislature Today
The Partnership for Florida’s Tourism is sponsoring several activities today (Jan. 18) at the 2012 Florida Tourism Day in Tallahassee. Eleven statewide associations, including the Florida Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, are hosting the downtown celebration to promote Florida tourism during the legislative session.
Members will be meeting with legislators throughout the day to ensure tourism and marketing programs are fully funded, WCTV-TV, Tallahassee.
The 2012 Florida Tourism Day hosts also include the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, VISIT FLORIDA, Film Florida, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Florida Attractions Association, Florida Association of Destination Marketing Organizations, Florida Association of Museums, Florida Cattlemen’s Association, the Florida Sports Foundation-A Division of Enterprise Florida and the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.
“Now it is more important than ever for us to show how crucial tourism and the $57 billion impact it makes on Florida’s economy,” said Carol B. Dover, president/CEO of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. “There is no question that Florida offers the most to visitors whether it is for the beautiful weather, the sandy white beaches, the world class hotels and restaurants, the nationally ranked sporting events, attractions, museums, parks, campgrounds, or convention options. Tourism Day honors the millions of large and small business owners and operators who make the hospitality industry the number one employer in the Sunshine State.”
