RV wholesale shipments to retailers were reported at 18,700 units in January, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has reported. That's  5.1 percent greater than the total shipped during this same month last year.

The gain was largely in conventional travel trailer shipments with truck campers and Class B motorhomes ahead on smaller volumes. This was the best January total recorded since 2008.

Towable shipments were up 6.3 percent from January 2011, while motorhome shipments were off 5 percent.
