Retail sales of motorized RVs fell 6.7 percent in January compared to January 2011, Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) has reported.

Class C sales grew by 1 percent in the month, but that growth was more than offset by a 10.7 percent decline in Class A sales.

Winnebago Industries was the overall leader with a 20.2 percent market share in January.

Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. was the Class A leader with a 23.1 percent share, while Thor Industries Inc. was the Class C leader with a 24.5 percent market share.

Winnebago was runner-up with a 20-plus percent share in both classes.

In a separate report, Class B sales fell 14.1 percent in January. Roadtrek Motorhomes remained the No. 1 seller of Class B or camper vans with a 36.7 percent market share in January.
