Tents for Troops Initiative Needs Petition Signers

April 12, 2012 by   - () 1 Comment

Charlie Curry, owner of the Toutle River RV Resort in southwest Washington and the founder of the Tents for Troops initiative, says signatures are coming in slowly for his petition to expand the Tents for Troops to federal lands. The deadline is May 1.

Curry provided the following background:

Tents for Troops created a petition on the White House’s “We the People” site asking President Obama to issue an executive order compelling parks/recreation areas on all federal lands to allow free camping for active military and active reserves. We need 25,000 signatures by May 1, 2012, to elevate this request to the administration and we’re asking for your help.

Please visit our petition at http://wh.gov/nL8. In order to sign it you must register with your name and email address and must confirm your email address via a confirmation email message from the site. Once registered you may add your name to the support of this request. Feel free to share this link with everyone you know and encourage them to support our troops in this small but significant way.

Please review the White House/Tents for Troops petition and add your name and support. We need 150 signatures to make the petition available to the public where it has a very good chance of picking up much-needed steam.

Additionally, feel free to share this with others that may be interested in this issue. Our goal is 25,000 signatures. We’re at 111.

    Thank you.
