Florida’s Buttonwood Inlet Resort Finds Summer Season

Newby Management recently completed a major renovation of its Buttonwood Inlet RV Resort in Cortez, Fla., just in time for the start of its summertime season.

The summer hasn’t been much of a season at all in Florida parks, reported Ray Seigneurie, CPO, regional manager for Newby Management. He manages the RV portfolio for the Ellenton, Fla.-based operator of 37 properties. But in 2011, Buttonwood Inlet RV Resort was virtually filled for the summer by native Floridians who spent their vacations close to home.

The park is in a prime location. It is located near the Cortez Bridge to Anna Maria Island beaches and attractions. It offers boat docks with access to a canal which leads to the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.

“Whether you call it a ‘family stay-cation,’ or ‘fun-cation camping,’ the convenience of RV camping close to home is both adventurous and practical. It can save you money,” said Tim Newby, president.

“We’re now going out and looking for stay-cation families who want to stay close to home,” added Seigneurie.

Based on the successful 2011 summer season, Newby Management renovated the campground focused in large part on families. The activity center was renovated, a computer library for adults and kids was installed, an RVers’ lounge was opened and 33 new sites were added.

The resort was filled during the winter season, which concluded in April, and the waiting list for next winter already reaches 70, Seigneurie noted.

And for the first time, starting June 15 and running through Aug. 15, the resort will offer an activities director to enhance guests’ outdoor experiences.
