The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has temporarily closed the Tub Run Campground in Somerset County and the Loyalhanna Lake Bush Recreation Area's camping area and boat-launching ramp in Indiana County, both located in western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

A severe storm on Sunday (May 27) downed power lines and trees at Loyalhanna Lake. The camping area is closed while the corps cleans and repairs the site. The corps expects to reopen the camp on June 1.

The boat ramp there is also closed after the water level rose to unsafe levels that caused floating debris and submerged hazards. The boat ramp will reopen as soon as the water recedes and cleanup is completed.

All reservations for the Tub Run Campground in the next two weeks will be canceled and refunded after a leak was discovered in the water tank that supplies water to the campground. Campground staff hope to reopen the camp as soon as possible.
