2012 National Operations Survey Underway
ARVC member parks are invited to participate in the 13th Bi-Annual National Operations Survey of the RV Park and Campground Industry and the association is encouraging 100 percent participation. Every member park that participates in the study by completing the survey will receive a free electronic copy of the survey, as well as a condensed version with personalized graphs allowing them to benchmark themselves against the industry.
To participate in the survey, ARVC members will receive a letter giving them the option of either completing the survey online in a user-friendly format or by completing the accompanying paper form and returning it to RRC Associates Inc. (RRC), the firm selected to conduct the 2012 Survey, by postage-paid mail. The primary objective of this study is to provide a high-quality, reliable report that helps identify trends within the industry thus allowing owners/operators to make quality, effective decisions for their business based on sound data. Survey results will be presented by RRC at the 2012 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo.
ARVC and Wanderlust Hospitality Offer Glamping Webinar

ARVC Announces 2012 Conference Keynote Speaker
Becky Winkler, principal of Green Peak Partners, was recently selected as this year’s keynote speaker for the 2012 Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo. Becky is recognized as “a leading expert at helping companies pick the right people” and has coached numerous leaders to achieve peak performance.
In 2010 Becky led a rigorous study – in collaboration with Cornell University – that resulted in the article “New Study Shows Nice Guys Finish First” being published for the American Management Association, The Washington Post and several other publications.
2011 ARVC Conference attendees may remember Becky’s seminar on “Building High Performance Teams” which received high reviews. This year her address at the Opening Luncheon will focus on how to add value to your business through the people you hire and the sense of community you build. (Click here to read more about her.)
Call for Outdoor Hospitality Conference Presenters

ARVC Members Storm Capitol Hill to Lobby Members on ADA and Other Issues
Twenty-one ARVC members and state association executives fanned out across Capitol Hill on May 9 to lobby members of Congress on the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations concerning pools and spas, as well as other issues, including travel and tourism promotion. In all, those who came to Washington for ARVC’s Issues Conference participated in nearly 80 scheduled meetings with Senate and House offices, and some dropped off materials at offices where meetings had not been scheduled. The Issues Conference was widely regarded as a success by participants and ARVC is intending to hold a similar conference in 2013.
