Ocean Lake Founders to be Inducted into RV/MH Hall of Fame
The late Nelson and Mary Emily Jackson, co-founders of Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, S.C., are among 11 inductees into the RV/MH Hall of Fame & Museum Class of 2012, which will be inducted at a gala dinner and induction ceremony on Aug. 6 at the Hall in Elkhart, Ind.
According to a news release, in addition to the Jacksons, others being inducted this year are: Bob Olson, formerly of Winnebago Industries Inc. and second vice chairman of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA); former RVIA Board member Stan Sunshine of Stag-Parkway; Michael R. Evans, Centennial Homes; Doug Gorman, Home-Mart; Edith Lane (deceased), Loaners on Wheels; Gerald Meuret, Housing Mart of Wausau; Ellwood A. Titcomb (deceased), Americorp; Perry Yoder (deceased), L&W Engineering; and Mary Irene Younkin, Greenlawn Cos.
Festivities begin with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. and the event is scheduled to end at 9:30 p.m. In addition to the induction ceremony, the Hall’s 2012 Golf Classic fundraiser will start on 7 a.m. at the Bent Oak Golf Club in Elkhart on August 6. Brick Program Fundraiser
Meanwhile, the RV/MH Hall of Fame & Museum continues to run its Brick Program Fundraiser through Aug. 31 with the tax deductible donation qualifying as a donation toward the Ingram family’s $100,000 Challenge Grant.
There are three ways individuals or companies and organizations can participate in the Brick Program Fundraiser.
- A single 4-by-8-inch brick for $250 that can be engraved with two lines of type, 14 characters long.
- An 8-by-8-inch brick for $500 with three lines of type, 14 characters long.
- The Enhanced Brick Program includes the 8-by-8-inch brick benefits plus the addition of a logo or graphic engraved on the brick for $750.00. Now through the August 31 end of the promotion, any person or company that purchases the 8-by-8-inch brick will be upgraded to the Enhance Brick Program at no additional cost-a $250 value.
