Eastern Storm Victims Seek Shelter at RV Parks
From North Carolina to New Jersey, more than 1 million people remain without power after a severe summer storm pounded the East Coast, WPMT-TV, York, Pa., reported.
Thousands in Maryland remain in the dark. Some people have retreated to campgrounds just miles from the Pennsylvania state line.
“Usually we are like the first on line,” said Sheila Eisele, an Arbutus, Md., resident. “However, as of today, we are the 20 percent that are without power today.”
Sheila Eisele and her family moved into their Merry Meadows camper June 29 and plan to stay until Monday, when their power is expected to be restored.
While both Eisele and her husband must add close to two hours to their commutes to work, which increases the amount of money they use to fill their tanks, they’re grateful they have somewhere to stay as they wait for life to return to normal.
