Five Canadians were arrested at Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Tuesday (July 31) for arguing and assaulting a police officer.

Samuel Forgues, 18, Line Giroux, 47, Frederik Labrie, 19, Jean-Martin Labrie, 22, and Bastien Labrie, 49, are charged with two counts of third degree assault and battery by a mob and public disorderly conduct, reported.

Bastien Labrie is also charged with assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.

Horry County police were called by campground security just after midnight Tuesday.

The group had been drinking and causing problems, according to a police report.

When an officer told them to call it a night and go inside their camper, they refused and started to fight the officer.

The officer was thrown to the ground and Bastien Labrie is accused of trying to choke him. A witness from a nearby camper saw the fight, said he was formerly in law enforcement and helped the officer.

The five were eventually detained and are still being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Bastien Labrie’s bond is $15,275. The other four are being held on $5,275 bond.
