A grounds-keeping shop at the Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) campground near Lodi, Calif., was destroyed by fire Wednesday morning (Aug. 8), according to the Woodbridge Rural Fire District.

Four fire engines and a tanker truck filled with water arrived about 8 a.m. at the 14900 block of West Highway 12 to find the building fully consumed by flames, said Capt. Jaime Ramirez of Woodbridge Fire.

A second alarm was quickly called as crews poured water on the structure from the outside. The fire, which Ramirez said likely started in the northwest corner of the roughly 3,000-square-foot building, took about an hour to contain.

No injuries were reported, and no additional structures were damaged. Although the building housed acetylene tanks, the containers of compressed gas did not explode or rupture during the fire, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
