Cavco's Ronnie Sanford

Display space is up considerably for the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Association’s (PRVCA) show in Hershey, Pa., billed as “America’s Largest RV Show,” running Sept. 10-16 at the Giant Center complex. The RV park and campground constituency was well represented among the numerous indoor displays. Outdoors was a collection of destination-style units, including a 35-foot-long, entry-level 100-Series park model that publicly held Cavco Industries Inc. distributes for retail prices “in the low to mid-$30,000’s” through RV dealers and campgrounds coast to coast. Ronnie Sanford, park model sales manager for the eastern region out of Cavco’s Rocky Mount, Va., plant, said that Cavco’s display unit sports 25-year asphalt shingles and a maintenance-free exterior with slightly tinted, vinyl, “low E,” energy-efficient windows that tilt in for easy cleaning. “It’s a slightly under-400-square-foot park model,” says Sanford. “We have it dressed up with an optional 1X6-inch, tongue-in-groove pine ceiling, all solid wood oak cabinet doors and all the other features that we’ve learned from customers that need to be in there.”
