People are used to seeing campgrounds filled with RVs and tents.

But have you ever seen a campground decked out for Halloween? Imagine telling ghost stories around a campfire or taking a haunted walk through the woods!

It’s happening at Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts across the country throughout September and October.

Most Jellystone Park locations offer several consecutive weekends of Halloween-themed activities, including pumpkin carving or painting contests, campsite and cabin decorating contests, costume contests and, of course, trick or treating.

“Some of our parks even have Halloween dances, haunted hiking trails and haunted houses,” said Michelle Wisher, director of marketing for Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems (LSI), which franchises Jellystone Parks across the country.

Jellystone Parks usually offer a mix of both scary and not so scary activities, which are designed to appeal to young children as well as teens and adults.

Many Jellystone Park locations also offer non-Halloween related activities in late summer and fall. Activities range from Hawaiian luau themed weekends to fall festivals to pet costume contests and corn mazes.
