Missouri’s Camping Guide Earns National Award
Missouri’s Camping guide is getting national attention.
The Missouri RV & Camping Guide, produced by Crowley, Texas-based Texas Advertising, has won the “Park Directory of the Year Award” from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) in the medium size state category.
“We’re very excited about this, Larry Helms, president of the Missouri Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (Missouri ARVC), stated in a news release. “We think this award is a great thing for our association’s marketing efforts and we appreciate Texas Advertising for helping us to produce a quality guide.”
The attractive four-color guide, which features 70 privately owned and operated campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across Missouri, has been an effective marketing tool that is helping to generate increased business for many parks across the Show-Me State, said Linda Alcorn, Missouri ARVC’s co-executive director.
The guide includes attractive graphics, a center map and a message from Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon.
Sixty thousand print versions of the directory are distributed to consumers each year at Missouri RV shows, member parks, tourism centers, farm bureau offices and points of entry. The directory is also available online at www.CampInMissouri.com.
“Advertising support for the Missouri RV & Camping Guide has been increasing as a result of the great response it is receiving from camping consumers,” said Brian Schaeffer, president and CEO of Texas Advertising, which has been producing the guide and managing the CampInMissouri website since 2008.
He said the guide has seen a 25% increase in advertising for the guide in each of the last two years, which is translating into more pages and more useful camping information for Missouri travelers. The 2013 edition of the Missouri RV & Camping Guide will be available in print and online in two weeks.
Helms received the Park Directory of the Year Award Nov. 30 during an awards banquet at ARVC’s annual Outdoor Hospital Convention and Expo, which took place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
