Motorized RV Sales Fell Slightly in November

Retail sales of motorized RVs dipped slightly in November compared with November 2011, Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI) has reported.
SSI reported retail sales were down 0.4% from a year ago. The split between Class A and Class C sales was A down 2.2% and C up 2.9%.
For year-to-date, all Class A and C sales were up 7%. The breakdown between classes was A up 5.9% and C up 8.5%.
The consolidated report for Class A and C sales combined showed Winnebago Industries Inc. in the top spot with a 25.1% market share in November. Forest River Inc. was No. 1 year-to-date with a 23.5% market share.
In Class A, Winnebago was tops in November with a 24.9% share and for the first 11 months with a 22% share.
In Class C, Winnebago was tops in November with a 25.3% market share but Thor Industries was No. 1 year-to-date with a 21.9% share.
In a separate report, Class B motorhome sales were up 5.6% in November over November 2011. Year-to-date, Class B sales were up a whopping 31.4%.
Kitchener, Canada-based Roadtrek Inc. was the Class B market leader with a 34.2% share in November and 36.4% year-to-date.
