Natl. RV Park School Course Held via Skype
The National School of RV Park and Campground Management underway this week at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling W. Va. is undergoing a historic first.
Veteran campground writer and social media expert Evanne Schmarder is co-teaching a class with Tracie Fisher, former executive director of the Michigan Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, via Skype.
The class is titled “Advertising in the Electronic Age.”
The class via Skype is “an innovative first for the school,” said Schmarder, a full-time RVer who is teaching the class while camped in her fifth-wheel in California. Schmarder is a columnist for Woodall’s Campground Management and www.woodallscm.com.
“We’re using three video interviews (another first) we conducted with successful owners/operators: Joe Moore from The Vineyards Campgrounds & Cabins, Dave Lovell from Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort and Gary Quigley from Kozy Rest Campground,” Schmarder stated on her Facebook wall post.
For her part, co-instructor Fisher comments on Schmarder’s posting, “You’re a gem to work with and I am sooooo sorry that our 7:45 a.m. class in WV means 4:45 for you in CA.”
Schmarder replied, “It’s all good. I haven’t seen a sunrise in a very long time.”
The national school concludes on Feb. 24.
