Carefree offers big prize in talent contest.

Eight hundred snowbirds from Carefree RV Resort properties across Florida are expected to attend the company’s second annual talent competition, which takes place March 20 at the Sun n Fun Air Museum in Lakeland, according to a news release.

“Twenty five residents from 25 different Carefree RV Resort properties will be competing for a $5,000 grand prize,” said Colleen Edwards, president of Carefree RV Resorts. The second place winner will receive $500 and a two night stay at Carefree’s Blue Moon Inn in Dunedin, Fla.

The event is being sponsored by Jacobsen Homes, a Safety Harbor, Fla.-based provider of factory-built homes. Carefree, for its part, will provide all attendees with a barbecue dinner from Smokin’ Jim’s House of BBQ after the competition.

“We hope our guests will spend the afternoon mixing with residents from Carefree parks across the state, celebrating the talented residents from our communities, and enjoying an afternoon of fun and BBQ,” Edwards said.
