CARVC Holds Inaugural Regional Meeting
The board of directors of the Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CARVC) held a regularly scheduled board meeting and its first regional membership meeting Tuesday (April 9) at Camp Clearwater in White Lake, N.C., reported Dana Gabriel, CARVC executive director.
Larry and Karen Barnhart of Camp Clearwater hosted the meeting in their newly finished meeting room. The festivities kicked off Monday night with a reception hosted by the Barnharts.
Tuesday's board meeting covered many topics pertinent to bettering the outdoor hospitality industry in the Carolinas through a series of eight committee reports, Gabriel stated. The Strategic Planning Committee presented a draft for a new CARVC strategic plan for the board to review. A new operating budget was established, and the Marketing Committee rolled out a three-prong CARVC marketing plan. The minutes will be posted on CARVC.org when the new site is completed.
Fifteen parks from throughout the Carolinas attended the Regional Membership Meeting. The meeting covered topics such as an ARVC update presented by our area board representative Mike Hobby, a CARVC update by President Barb Krumm and Gabriel, and brief summaries of committee work in progress.
The final topic of the evening was to help members navigate the new ARVC.org site to make the most of all of the great ARVC benefits available to membership, and a brief how-to for campground operators on updating their GoCampingAmerica.com profile.
The evening ended with dinner at Giorgio's Italian Restaurant in Elizabethtown, N.C.
