Some of the people who helped Southeast Publications raise over $30,000 for the KOA Care Camps.

Southeast Publications announced that it has raised over $30,000 for KOA Care Camps so far at their 23rd Annual Spring Meeting being held this week at Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert, Calif., according to a news release.

As in past meetings, Southeast Publications held an auction to raise funds that benefit the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) Care Camps, a non-profit organization that helps send kids with cancer to special camps where they can enjoy camping and recreation experiences.

The 2013 spring meeting is the largest in Southeast's history and their auction has already raised over $30,000 with another day of other fundraisers to take place. In addition to the auction, raffles are being held for various items, including iPads, jewelry, a Coach purse and miscellaneous other items. The raffle has already raised over $1,000 and that will be added to the total that will be presented to the KOA Care Camps in November.

Several corporate partners and long time supporters of Southeast Publications and the KOA Care Camps that were in attendance took part in the auction and helped out in raising funds for the Care Camps organization. Reza Paydar provided support with donations from some of his organizations, including $1,000 on behalf of RMS North America. Sunland RV Resorts donated $500 on behalf of the Motorcoach Resort at Bay Harbor, Mich., Signature RV Resorts donated $500. Paydar Properties and Emerald Desert RV Resort also provided support in the amount of $1,000.

The Southeast Publications Sales Associates and Office Staff bid on various items including two beloved and coveted boxes of Twinkies that raised $2,000, a variety of wines, handmade quilts, jewelry, and other items bringing the total to more than $30,000 in proceeds raised.

Southeast Publications is the second largest donor to the Care Camps, and with more fund raising planned for the upcoming months, Southeast Publications hopes to reach the $500,000 lifetime donation mark by the time the check is presented in November. Southeast Publications has been raising funds for the Care Camps for almost 20 years.

"It is tradition in our company to provide fundraising for this wonderful organization. The passion for this cause was started with my fathers desire to work with other industry leaders to help promote happiness to children stricken with illness. We all within our company continue to share the passion for this charity founded for us long ago,” said CEO, Wally Warrick.

Carlene Morris, vice president of Southeast Publications and Care Camp Board Member said, “We are so proud to be able to provide for this charity. As a company we rely on all of our corporate and sales staff to help achieve the fundraising goals we have, which is to provide a life altering experience for children who need our help.”
