RVC Outdoor Destinations announced today (April 2) that River Plantation RV Park has completed renovations and been re-flagged as River Plantation RV Resort. Set within the Smoky Mountains and located on the Little Pigeon River, the Sevierville, Tenn., property is within minutes of the area’s many attractions.

River Plantation has been the pre-eminent outdoor hospitality property in the Smoky Mountain National Park region and one of the best performing RV oriented properties in the United States, according to a news release. The property includes 287 RV sites, eight cabins, and over 200 storage sites. Recently completed renovations include a new welcome lodge, fitness center and new asphalt roads.

“RVC understands the industry,” said Jimbo Conner, owner of River Plantation. “They are striving to improve consistency and standards and we want to be a part of it. Also, they bring collaborative resources and a partnership that will allow River Plantation to grow and improve. This partnership is the first Joint Venture for RVC involving flagging and operating a separately owned property. In addition to providing long-term management and branding, RVC is providing capital for improvements and expansion.

Andy Cates, president of RVC, said, “RVC is extremely excited to welcome River Plantation RV Resort into our family. We are honored that Jimbo and River Plantation chose to be a part of this movement, and we have already enjoyed working together to improve and redefine the industry. RVC continues to lead the outdoor hospitality industry in our niche of high quality outdoor destinations and we’re actively seeking properties that fit our model.”

In addition to River Plantation RV Resort in Tennessee, RVC currently operates Outdoor Destinations and RV Resorts in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.
