Mention national park lodges, and most people envision an icon such as Yellowstone's Old Faithful Inn, with its soaring, multistory log lobby.

Other famous park lodges include the Grand Canyon's century-old El Tovar and Glacier National Park's Many Glacier Hotel, all magnificent National Historic Landmarks.
