Severe weather hit northeast Wisconsin Tuesday night (Aug. 6) and early today, causing severe damage to many homes, power lines, and trees.

The storm brought major destruction to Applecreek Campground in De Pere, knocking down trees and power lines. Some campers were trapped in their RVs by fallen trees. Rescue crews had to cut people out of their rigs, WTMJ-TV, Milwaukee, reported.

About 50 to 60 campers were staying at the campsite, and all are reported unharmed.

Power crews are also busy working on reported gas leaks in Kaukauna. Trailers were overturned and multiple trees were snapped and fell onto power lines.

There are additional outages all over the northeast part Wisconsin. Nearly 30,000 customers woke up without power in Appleton and the surrounding area. Crews have been working on the problems for hours.
