VIDEO: Flooded Riverview RV Park Digs Out

Today's video is courtesy of Holly Dreams who posted this video on YouTube following a walk through the flooded River RV Park near Loveland, Colo. The video was posted on Sept. 14.

Riverview RV Park near Loveland Colo., continues to dig out from the flooding from the Big Thompson River that inundated the park 1 1/2 weeks ago.

The park shut down after flooding on Sept. 12-13 and remains closed

Riverview is only a short drive from the picturesque Rocky Mountain National Park and the Cache la Poudre River Canyon.

The Denver Post reported on the flood's impact in a recent story, It started in part, "At the Riverview RV park, huge trees were jammed under a bridge leading to the business, while the smashed remains of some outbuildings squatted on the river bank."

In an automatic reply to e-mails, the park stated: Due to the Big Thompson River Flood, our office is closed. We are working from various evacuation sites with our cell phones and laptops to respond. We make every attempt to respond to emails once a day, Monday through Saturday until we are able to return. Thank you for your patience.

The owner, a few staff, and a few resident volunteers are working to put the park back together.CDOT Road and Bridge and other county officials are working on bridge and road integrity for Hwy 34.

Park owners have been keeping the public apprised of their recovery efforts on Facebook where campers and other well-wishers have posted numerous supporting comments.
