The first private campground and RV park in Pendleton County, Ky., is open for business.

The Licking River Campground’s owners, Kenneth and Brenda Abercrombie of Falmouth purchased the small tract of land in Shoemakertown adjacent to property they purchased a few months ago and have transformed it from a public eyesore to something beautiful, reported the Falmouth Outlook.

The woods, formerly filled with brush, junk and fallen trees, are now a place where families can camp, fish (private lake or river) and have access to the Licking River and the boat dock.

A private playground will be available for children come spring plus areas for horseshoe pitching, volleyball, etc. Full RV hookups are available with electric, water and sewage. The campground is approximately five-and-a-half miles from Kincaid Lake State Park.
