“Electric tourists,” a new breed of traveler, began frequenting Washington’s Methow Valley this fall. David Crawford, owner of Crawford’s RV Park, is not pleased with the possibility of an additional 50-cent lodging surcharge in Jackson County, Ala. In news that will have a positive ripple impact on the campground and RV park industry, RV shipments to retailers raced ahead in October this year, climbing 29.3% ahead of the previous month and were 16.6% greater than the same month last year, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) reported Wednesday (Nov. 27). Spending the night at the beach is a no-no at most Los Angeles coastal areas. At Dockweiler Beach, however, spending the night is a yes-yes, as long as you have access to an RV or a camping trailer, Long Beach Press-Telegram columnist Richard Guzman reported in the Los Angeles Daily News. Surprisingly, the chance of snow and ice didn’t keep people from visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Tuesday (Nov. 27). Around 20 campers were ready to brave the cold at Elkmont Campground. “We’ve been in snow so much, I’ve drove through it.
