Opposition Delays RV Park Plans in Nevada
Increased traffic, dust and noise were some of the issues brought up Wednesday by opponents of a Mohave Valley recreational vehicle park.
Two neighbors expressed their opposition to the RV park destined to be built off of Stage Coach Drive in South Mohave Valley, the Mohave Valley Daily News reported.
The neighbors spoke of the increase in traffic on Stage Coach Drive, a dirt road, along with increased noise, overhead lights and pollution of ground water. They also spoke of the lowering of property values in their homes. A petition collected 24 signatures representing 16 parcels opposing the park.
The applicant said he will build the park on one of his two four-acre lots and keep the other lot natural in a park-like setting. He plans to have five spaces for full-time hookups and six other spaces along with dry camping and outdoor storage of vehicles. The water would come from wells and there would be a septic system.
The commission postponed for 60 days whether or not to recommend a permit for the RV park.
