Welcome Home RGV, McAllen, Texas, on Nov. 5 held its fourth annual trade show for activity and tour directors, launching the region’s welcome to returning Winter Texans, reported the Valley Morning Star of Harlingen.

The trade show, held at Victoria Palms Resort, showed RV park officials the available entertainment and activity options for the Rio Grande Valley’s seasonal residents.

“This is sort of the kick off to the winter season,” said Cari Lambrecht, spokeswoman at South Texas Health System, one of 64 vendors presenting products and services to representatives from Valley retirement communities.

Kristi Collier, president and CEO of Welcome Home RGV, emphasized the whirlwind of year-round activity that goes toward presenting options for activity directors the 100 Valley RV parks between Brownsville and Mission.

“We’re actually busier during the offseason,” Collier said. “We look for anything that could be of service to Winter Texans.”

Collier said Welcome Home RGV’s focus is to provide Winter Texans with the resources to make Winter Texans’ visit a success.
