A biker bar and campground could be coming to, or near, Sunrise Beach, the Lake Expo of Laurie, Mo., reported.

At the Camden County Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Wednesday (Dec. 19) the commissioners postponed until January any action on the proposal by Dan Laubach of Laubach Properties LLC to expand Deer Valley Park Camping and Storage into a biker haven, which would require the rezoning of the property which sits at State Road TT and Putt N Bay Road and adjoins Frankie and Louie’s Bar and Grill. Laubach owns Frankie and Louie’s.

Laubach asked to rezone a 16.2-acre part of the 39-acre property.

Laubach said 16 acres would be developed as a roadhouse bar and restaurant, boat and trailer storage lot, and RV campground with primitive camping sites. The establishment would cater to motorcyclists, particularly during Bikefest. Camden County has no current zoning for primitive camping.
