RV Park Throws Party for Foster Families
Foster families in the Benson, Ariz., area were treated to a Christmas celebration on Dec. 9 hosted by Cochise Terrace RV Park, the Benson News-Sun reported.
Children were visited by Santa and Mrs. Claus and were able to give jolly St. Nick their Christmas lists. From play station games, to new dolls to bicycles, Santa got an earful that night as youngsters lined up to let him know exactly what they wanted.
The families were treated to a turkey dinner with all the traditional side dishes prepared every year by a group of women at the RV Park who call themselves the Helping Hands.
In addition, every child received a stocking filled with gifts and candy.
“Along with the gifts for the children, all the families received a gift bag with a movie and popcorn for a movie night at home,” said David Lambert, who is raising two foster children, Michelle, 2, and Matthew, 7 months. “I know I speak for everyone when I say the foster families are grateful to all the organizers for taking the time to do this for us every year,” Lambert added.
SKP RV Park in Benson also is a major contributor to children in foster care.
