Snowbirds Gathered For Calif. RV Thanksgiving

Some folks make a lifestyle of not being at home for the holidays. We call them snowbirds, the Desert Trail of Twentynine Palms, Calif., reported . The Twentynine Palms Resort is the perfect nest for these peripatetic seniors who follow the sun to winter in the desert.

The snowbirds are experienced hands when it comes to feathering those nests and they’re not about to let several hundred miles come between them and a Thanksgiving feast.

On Thanksgiving Day, the resort clubhouse was the festive place to be for both kinds of turkey, oven roasted and deep fried, and a variety of tasty sides that represented a little of everyone’s treasured specialties.

“It’s a yearly tradition,” resort owner Bill Talley said as he brought in more wine.
