Fort Caspar Campground in Casper, Wyo., bills itself as "Your Gateway to the Intermountain West," and the 79-site campground is one of the few campgrounds in the area open all year long, according to the campground's site.

"Located in historic Casper, Wyo., on the scenic North Platte River, we’re surrounded by wildlife, history and the beauty of nature. If you’re planning a trip to the West, make us your “home base” and enjoy our hospitality and all that Wyoming and the Casper area have to offer.

"Our highly-rated facilities will help make your RV experience a memorable one, and you’ll find plenty of recreation within walking distance, including hiking, wildlife viewing and photo opportunities, and historic Fort Caspar and Five Trails Crossing. There are also two private fishing ponds and a large picnic area.

"We are one of the few campgrounds in the area that is open year round with full amenities. We are also located close to the historic Fort Caspar Museum."
