Campground reservations for PacifiCorp’s Cresap Bay and Cougar Camp parks along the North Fork of the Lewis River in Washington will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m Saturday (March 1), The Columbian of Vancouver, Wash., reported. Reservations can be made online for the first time. Individuals will be limited to four reservations for the 2014 season due to the popularity of the campgrounds. Year-over-year Canadian towable retail sales declined for the final three months of 2013, down 27.9% in December, while registrations for the full year finished up 3.2%. After years of legal tussle, the state of Minnesota won a decisive courtroom battle that’s expected to shut down a popular Goodhue County campground, the Rochester Post-Bulletin reported. A judge on Feb. 3 approved a permanent injunction request made by the Minnesota Department of Health that effectively shuts down the 300-acre Hidden Valley campground. By summer, Linn County, Ore., will be in the marina business, the Board of Commissioners agreed Wednesday (Feb. 26). The county agreed to purchase the bankrupt Edgewater RV Resort and Marina from OSU Federal Credit Union for $775,000, the Albany Democrat-Herald reported. Parks director Brian Carroll said the facility on the southwest corner of Foster Reservoir includes 40 marina slips and 49 RV campsites, as well as office space. The bare hills in the White Fire zone of California’s Santa Ynez Valley are now facing a new concern with two winter storms passing through, television station KEYT reported from Santa Barbara Wednesday evening (Feb. 26).
