There are a lot of quilters in western Pinal County, Ariz., especially in winter, the Casa Grande Dispatch reported. More than 400 of them have joined forces to offer three quilt shows from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the same day, Feb. 22, in Casa Grande at Fiesta Grande RV Resort, Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort and Sundance 1 RV Resort.

“It’s great that we are all going to be able to work together,” said Lois DeGeest, co-chair of the quilting group at Fairways, “’cause we know a lot of quilters come from out of town for this, and if they can go to three quilt shows in one day, it’s really quite a neat deal.

DeGeest said Fairways has only 12 to 15 quilters, so they will show with the 65 quilters at Sundance.

Fiesta Grande has more than 80 quilters. Palm Creek has more than 250.

“Oh, yeah, we’re huge!” said Bonnie Hensel, quilt show coordinator at Palm Creek.
