Another U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground could be closing this year. The Viney Creek Recreation Area on Table Rock Lake near Golden, Mo. is the target this time, television station KOLR reported.

The corps announced it may not open the campground or boat ramps this season.

“It’s targeted right now for a full closure.”

Greg Oller is the lake manager and says funding is to blame after receiving $600,000 less this year from the federal funding.

“When you have small campgrounds, your operation maintenance cost go up and, unfortunately, that is what happened on Table Rock,” said Oller.

Viney Creek has plenty of campsites, as well as, a playground area and swimming area but its missing one essential thing: It doesn’t have a commercial marina connected to it so that makes it easier to close.
